St. Louis - Last weekend SLSG crowned it's first President's Cup Champ for the 2018 season. 04 Atletico Madrid coached by Kurt Schoen and Jason Schicker topped what was arguably the most even of groups with 1 win and two ties to move on to the Regional Tournament in KC during the summer of 2019.
In other age groups, 00 Roma, coached by Trent Kuperwicz, took 2nd place in their age group, a positive showing no doubt, also with a record of a win and two ties did not see them take the trophy, but very respectful and something to build from for the rest of the season. In the 2002 age group, SLSG was represented by both Bolton (Brian Hansen/Sean Long) and Manchester City (Ricky Andrews/Scott Stephan) and both had great weekends with two wins and a tie. A little different result on Saturday for each team could have seen the two meet in the final but it was not to be and still a great showing for the club.
Finally, in the U16 age group, 03 Sevilla, the reigning champs, won their group and will compete for the trophy on October 28th versus AFA. Sevilla was unblemished this weekend winning all three of its bracket matches.
Congrats to all of our families, and good luck to Sevilla!
